If youre moving to a new home, you dont have to wait long to get your electricity turned on. With Discount Power, you can take advantage of same-day electricity service, which means your lights can be on the very same day you enroll in a new plan. To ensure same-day activation, make sure to sign up before the 5 p.m. cutoff time, Monday through Saturday. If you miss this deadline, your service will begin the following day.
Discount Power Early Termination Fees (ETFs)
Texas power providers, including Discount Power, often charge an early termination fee (ETF) if customers end their electricity plan before the contract term is complete. These fees are common with fixed-rate energy plans that require a contract. Your plans Electricity Facts Label (EFL) will outline any penalties included in your agreement. For Discount Power, the ETF fees are as follows:
- $150 for 12-month plans
- $295 for 24-month plans
Discount Power ETFs Exceptions
Not every situation will lead to an early termination fee. If you move outside of Discount Powers service area, the company will waive the fee.
